Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are used in volume replacement in positive ageing.

Dermal fillers can enhance or balance facial features, resulting in a more beautiful look.

Dermal fillers can stimulate collagen and improve skin quality.

Dermal Fillers are suitable for:

Age-related volume loss or rapid weight loss resulting in a 'sunken' or 'hollow' look

Lifting of laugh lines and jowls

Lip definition and volumisation

Enhancing cheek, chin and jawline definition

Correcting asymmetry

Texture improvement: Filling of fine lines, wrinkles, eye bags, tear trough, Indian lines and atrophic acne scars

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is naturally present in our bodies to provide hydration and support to the skin. HA fillers use cross-linking technology to create a gel matrix for reshaping the face. These come in wide range from soft to hard to cater to soft areas, such as the tear trough and lips, to bony areas, such as the jawline and chin.

What are HA fillers?

HA Fillers vs Semi-Permanent Fillers

What are Semi-Permanent fillers?

Semi-Permanent fillers use non-HA particles to create volume and reshape the face. Different products have different properties and afford various benefits. We use Calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHA) (微晶瓷) based semi-permanent filler, which can be used neat as a semi-permanent filler, or diluted to be used as a collagen stimulator.

How do I choose?

Our recommendation in selection criteria boils down to 3 main factors:

  1. Volume loss - is best treated with HA fillers

  2. Skin tightening - is best treated with CaHA semi-permanent filler

  3. Complex cases with a mixture of volume loss and skin laxity - usually require a combination of both, and may also require energy-based devices to achieve the desired outcome.

We will always recommend the most ideal treatment to achieve your goals. For more complex or advanced cases, if surgery is required to achieve your desired outcome, we will inform you as such.

Dermal fillers and semi-permanent fillers are some of the tools we use transform faces. They are most suitable for:

  • Positive Ageing

The use of fillers will focus on replacing volume lost and lifting the face to counter the effect of gravity.

  • Beautification / Enhancement

The placement of fillers will focus on enhancing your features to create a more beautiful version of yourself.

  • Correction

Fillers can be used to correct facial asymmetry or scars.

  • Transformation

Non-surgical transformation of the whole face is possible now due to the wide range of dermal fillers available. Achieve perfect balance and harmony in line with your ethnic and cultural identity using dermal fillers.

Who is suitable?

What to expect?

Consultation

During the consultation, our doctor will formulate a treatment plan that addresses your concerns holistically. This may include a combination of fillers and energy based devices or skin boosters.

Preparation

Prior to injection, our doctor will confirm the treatment plan and mark out the areas, followed by topical numbing cream.

During the Procedure

There may be some discomfort from the injection but it is generally well-tolerated as the filler itself contains local anaesthetic. We use a combination of direct injection and micro-cannula to optimise the aesthetic outcome and minimise the risk of filler-related adverse effects.

Post-Procedure

You are advised not to massage or rub the area for 48 hours. There is no downtime and you may resume daily activities. There may be temporary swelling or bruising around the treated area, although this is rare. If this occurs, you may apply a cool ice pack at home to speed up recovery.

What are other alternatives to fillers?

There are many alternatives to dermal fillers depending on your concern and your desired outcome.

We highly recommend coming in for a detailed consultation to fully understand your goals and advise an appropriate treatment plan for you.
