Chemical Peels
What are Chemical Peels?
Chemical peeling involves the application of a solution to the skin’s surface to remove part of the outer layer of the skin, stimulate growth of new skin and reduce skin congestion, resulting in improved skin refinement.
Depending on the type and concentration of solution used, chemical peels may work as a superficial , medium or deep peel.
The benefits of chemical peels include, but are not limited to:
• Improving the evenness of the complexion by reducing superficial scarring and irregular pigmentation
• Improving acne, congestion and blocked pores
• Improving superficial skin texture concerns by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles through neocollagen stimulation
• Improving deeper skin texture concerns for example deep, tethered acne scars by breaking down the scar and neocollagen stimulation
• Can be used on any part of the body where clinically indicated

Signature Peel
White Aesthetics Signature Peel is our peel of choice for superficial peels. We customised a triple-action peel comprising alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) glycolic and lactic acid, beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) salicylic acid, and lightening ingredients.
It is predictable in outcome and can be layered to achieve the desired effect, according to each patient's skin condition and concern.
White Aesthetics Signature Peel may be combined with other treatments to improve outcomes, including:
This peel is suitable for treating active acne, congested skin, acne scars and pigmentation. It can be done regularly for anti-ageing to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
It is also one of the few treatments that visibly improves keratosis pilaris (“chicken skin/ strawberry skin”) which is notoriously difficult to treat.
What is it?
Who is suitable?
Pigment lasers (pico toning)
Skin boosters
Topical retinoids
What to expect?
The procedure is straightforward and can be performed within 15 minutes. There may be some discomfort but it is generally well tolerated. There is no downtime. However some patients may experience peeling of the skin at day 3 to 4 post-treatment if more layers (>3) are applied over the treatment area. Sunscreen and moisturizer are recommended for all, especially those who are prone to hyperpigmentation.
TCA CROSS
Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is used as a deep chemical peel. At White Aesthetics, we use it for the chemical reconstruction of skin scars (CROSS) to improve atrophic acne scars.
TCA CROSS may be combined with other treatments to improve outcomes, including:
Patients with moderate to severe atrophic scars may benefit from this treatment. Of the various types of atrophic acne scars, Ice-pick scars and Boxcar scars see the most improvement from TCA CROSS. It may also improve the appearance of rolling scars.
What is it?
Subcision
Fractional laser
Topical retinoids
Rejuran Healer/Scar
What to expect?
The procedure is straightforward and can be performed within 15 minutes, depending on the number of scars to be treated. There may be some discomfort at the treatment sites but it is generally well tolerated.
Following the procedure, one should expect frosting of the skin (the intended end-point of the procedure) for up to 12 hours. The skin at and around the treatment areas may be red and sore for up to 24 to 48 hours. After 2 to 3 days, a small scab will develop which will fall off naturally within 3 to 7 days. Patients are advised not to pick at scabs. Sunscreen is recommended for all, especially those who are prone to hyperpigmentation.
How does it work?
The procedure involves controlled spot application of small amounts of TCA at high concentration (70–100%) onto the surface of the atrophic scar. This causes a local inflammatory reaction which stimulates the formation of new collagen. The aim is to improve the appearance of the skin by reducing scar depth and improving skin texture.
TCA CROSS is moderately effective for atrophic acne scars. Complete resolution is unlikely to be achieved with this treatment method alone, but patients should expect a 1 to 2 grade improvement in their acne scars after adequate treatment.
Most patients are recommended between 3 to 6 treatments for the most optimal outcome. These should be repeated at 2-4 week intervals.
Dermamelan Intimate Depigmenting Peel
Dermamelan Intimate is a multi-approach treatment for pigmentation disorders. This includes hormone-related hyperpigmentation, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and hyperpigmentation from mechanical friction.
It is suitable for sensitive areas including underarms and the genital region.
This treatment comprises a clinic procedure and a home-based regimen to follow. The procedure cost includes all clinic and home-based products to be used for this treatment.
What is it?
What to expect?
In the clinic, we apply a 2 step protocol. This includes a gentle combination chemical peel and a depigmenting mask.
During the peel, you may expect some tingling sensation but this is well tolerated without requiring any numbing cream.
You will be able to go home immediately after this. In the next week, there may be some peeling around the areas. There is no downtime and you may go about your usual activities.
At home, the mask is washed off and a soothing mask should be applied. You will be provided with a depigmenting gel to apply daily at night for 2 months.
A single treatment is effective in visibly improving hyperpigmentation. Results are noticeable immediately upon completion of the clinic procedure, and will continue to improve with the home-based regimen up to 2 months following the clinic procedure. This treatment may be repeated in 6 months if further lightening is desired.
Who is suitable?
In combination with Brazilian IPL laser lightening and hair removal, this treatment further improves skin texture and appearance in the genital region.
We highly recommend this for couples looking to spice up their bedroom life.
It is also effective for those troubled by pigments in sensitive areas. Have you found yourself avoiding sleeveless shirts and spaghetti strap tops due to underarm darkening? Or avoided shorts or swimwear due to inner thigh darkening? This treatment will be suitable for you.
